What documents do I need to rent a car in Nha Trang?
To book with us you need a photo of your passport and driving licence, plus a $200 deposit. To drive legally in Vietnam you need your national licence together with an International Driving Permit issued under the 1968 Vienna Convention.
Is my foreign driving licence valid?
Vietnam only recognises International Driving Permits issued under the 1968 Vienna Convention. Check the convention printed in your permit: the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan issue the 1949 version, which is not valid in Vietnam.
How much does it cost to rent a car in Nha Trang?

Can I drive to Da Lat or other cities?
Yes. For Nha Trang — Da Lat — Tuy Hoa trips your deposit is refunded immediately on return. For other provinces the deposit is held for 30 days to check for traffic fines and then refunded in full if there are none.

Driving licence for renting a car in Vietnam: what tourists need
The first question before renting a car in Vietnam is which licence to bring. Vietnam is a party to the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic and recognises International Driving Permits issued under that convention. An IDP is only valid together with your national licence.

The licence category must match the vehicle: category B for a passenger car. Long-stay residents can convert their national licence to a Vietnamese one.
